The Elverhøj Museum of History and Art (“the Elverhøj Museum” or “We”) does not sell, share, rent, trade, swap, or otherwise disclose staff, volunteer, visitor, guest or donor Personally Identifiable Information (PII) to any outside party without prior written authorization of the owner of the PII. The Museum also has a policy of not sending communications such as mail or email on behalf of other organizations unless aligned with the Mission of the Museum.

Information you provide offline:
When communicating offline with the Elverhøj Museum such as but not limited to signing up for classes, workshops, fundraisers and donating offline, you have the option to share your email address, physical address, and telephone number with the Museum. Doing so allows you to receive communications from the Museum.
Information you provide online:
This website utilizes Secure Sockets Layer (SSL), an advanced data encryption system used to ensure the security and confidentiality of information exchanged between your browser and this Site’s servers. When communicating with the Elverhøj, such as, but not limited to signing up for classes, workshops, fundraisers and donating offline, you have the option to share your email address, physical address, and telephone number with the Museum. Doing so allows you to receive communications from the Museum.
By completing the site’s Contact Us form, making a purchase, signing up for a class or workshop, donating to the Museum or by signing up for email updates, the information you volunteer will include PII such as name and email address. You agree to our use of your PII to communicate with you under the outlined conditions.
Browsing, reading pages or downloading material from our site, does not allow us to collect any information that will identify you personally, or determine your e-mail address. Our web server automatically recognizes the domain name and Internet Protocol (IP) address of each visitor to our site.
Like most major sites, we collect and analyze that information to help us improve the site for our visitors. We utilize third-party tools such as but not limited to Google Analytics and other search engine analysis. This helps us determine which pages you visit, how long you stay and the site you visited immediately beforehand. A cookie is a small data file stored on the user’s hard drive which may contain information about the user. Our cookies do not store any PII.

Should you send us an email with questions or comments, we may use your personal information in order to respond to your questions or comments. We will likely keep your contact information and comments or questions for future reference. We offer an email newsletter as well as event and exhibition announcements to visitors who sign-up for email contact. We currently use Little Green Light and Mail Chimp, secure third-party providers. We reserve the right to use any third-party without prior notification to the website visitor or provider of PII.
We occasionally will send out surveys and questionnaires to help improve the services provided by the Elverhøj Museum. If you choose to participate in one of the surveys, we may ask you for certain demographic and other personal information. We do not share this information with others unless clearly noted.
Privacy of Children
The Elverhøj Museum of History and Art does not solicit personal information from children and does not sell products for purchase by children. Any children’s products listed are specifically designed to be purchased by adults. Visitors 12 years of age and under must obtain an adult’s permission before submitting any personal information to this site and visitors 17 years of age and under may only purchase items from this website with the involvement of a parent or guardian.
We will release specific information about you or your account to comply with any valid legal process such as a search warrant, subpoena, statute or court order.
Removal of Personal Information
We offer our visitors the option to have their personal information deleted from our database and donor database or to stop receiving communications from us. This Museum uses third party services such as but not limited to Square, Stripe, Little Green Light, PayPal, Amazon, and other specialty online store sites. We can only guarantee secure transactions with orders placed directly through this Site using secure online providers. While we try to take all appropriate security measures, we cannot guarantee secure transactions for orders sent to us via email or other unencrypted means.
