CHANNING PEAKE’S SANTA YNEZ VALLEY
Channing Peake, 1910-1989, was an important Southern California artist who owned and operated a working ranch in the Santa Ynez Valley while maintaining an active artistic career. Peake not only captured images of ranching, the figure, and landscape, but interpreted them with a modernist sensibility. Members of Elverhøj Art Committee and Cheri Peake, his widow and custodian of his estate, visited collectors and got them to loan works for this exhibit that were inspired by his years in the Santa Ynez Valley. More information.
